[b]Phil Gammage[/b] is a New York-based roots and Americana musician, songwriter, and recording artist best known for his nine solo album releases and his work as a songwriter, singer, harmonica player, guitarist, and producer. His best known early work from the 1980s are with the alternative rock New York band [b]Certain General[/b] where he was lead guitarist and co-song writer for much of the bands first three releases through [i]November's Heat[/i]. He also appears on later Certain General albums from the 200s. Phil also played off and on for ten years with his blues rock band [b]The Corvairs[/b] who put out albums on indie labels SourMash and Cryptovision (USA), New Rose and Invitation au Suicide (France), and Modell (Germany)
Phil's solo releases began in the early 90s with two album on New Rose [i]Night Train[/i] and [i]Kneel To The Rising Sun[/i]. His discography now includes [i]From Nowhere to Somewhere[/i] (2021 album), [i]It’s All Real Good[/i] (2019), [i]Used Man For Sale[/i] (2016), [i]The American Dream[/i] (2015), [i]Adventures in Bluesland[/i] (2014), and his collaboration with spoken word artist and folk legend John Sinclair [i]Keeping the Blues Alive[/i] (2014 live album).
He currently performs as a solo performer (2019 European solo tour) or with his full band. Phil has played recently at such noted events as the Lancaster Roots and Blues Festival, Porch Stomp! Festival, CBGB Festival, and BluesCraft Summer Festival.
